I have always been fascinated with the art of bookbinding. I love working with paper and glue to create things and putting books together has a special place in my heart. I don’t do much of it now but there was a time when I did put time and energy to creating different kinds of books. I still do put together quick little “journals”, just nothing as formal as I once did.
The other day, while looking for something else, I came across three Artist Sketchbooks that I had made while participating in a bookmaking workshop. These weren’t exactly “forgotten”…merely put away in a safe place until I could decide what to use them for. You know how that is. And so they sat. I pulled them down, looked through them, and decided that perhaps it was time to find a new home for them.
So…I’ll be listing them in my Etsy shop with the hope that someone will fall in love with them and give them the love they deserve. I’m spotlighting this artist sketchbook first…it’s 7×10 inches, contains acid free watercolor paper, and the cover is made using hand-stamped paper. I used both a butterfly stitch and a herringbone stitch to assemble this lovely book. If you’re interested in this sketchbook, the link to my Etsy shop is: An Eclectic Universe
